Interested in learning how to make maps? Want to be a step ahead of your colleagues and make your resume shine? Get to the Health Sciences Library’s GIS Summer Workshop! 

Join us for a lecture followed by an open working lab to learn Geographic Information Systems!

After this workshop, participants will be able to:  

  • Produce a simple map and get feedback  

  • Investigate new ways to present data via maps 

  • Select a dataset from American Fact Finder (Census) and properly load it on GIS software  

  • Describe basic ideas of GIS and its capability  

  • Troubleshoot GIS software issues using GIS terminology
